    network problem after shutdown sf8008

i always appear to have a problem starting my network after shutdown once i manage to get connected everything is fine but it is a pain up the arse trying to get it to connect.by shutdown i mean turning the power off i have tried my old extrend on the same net work cable and it connects first time every time so i presume cables and router are all fine.
the network test goes fine up to obtaining ip address and it is not be able to find one i eventually manage to get connected but it really spoils what is a good receiver.
i have also got problems trying to connect via wifi i gave up on that one after ten hours and a mental breakdown i am running the latest openvix image which is up to date any help will be much appreciated.

I never power off any e2 boxes as usually put into standby with remote, boxes should not have issues with lan cable connection to router but is possible to have a bad lan port.
Can you try it in a different place with new cable and run network test and if failing reboot router and box and try again.
