Isn't that the option within Vix to send debug log files (which no-one ever looks at now, so the option should really be removed)?

Difficult to see how having ports open could result in the box randomly booting up from Deep Standby.
The plethora of key presses might indicate that something else in the room is emitting IR key codes?

I agree with you about the key presses .... it just seems unreasonably high

By any chance in other rooms are you using a harmony remote control that works through walls?
Does this box have an active wifi port that could get interference from other sources like lights or detc phones.
Not sure that could have an effect on box.
Do you have other boxes in house as the guys might know if that is also on the same source?

Ohh the red light and starting but never does is a famous issue on the old vu duo with possible internal caps issue.

Perhaps the batteries in the remote at close to the point of failure. Electronics can do some weird things when the power supply is below the minimum voltage.

key presses could have been while I was trying to redo debug log email ETC and trying to get the sundteck usb dongle to tune.

strange problem now is the front USB port is not being read on reboot? other than that the box is running fine now.
