    I want to also ask if this is the latest and best DVB-S2X tuner for the HD51?

    I also want to know the benefit of the Si2166D over the original DVB-S2 (think it's AVL6211)

    Hope someone can give answers.

    The S2X tuner is more sensitive than the previous one. All newer ones came shipped with the better tuner.

    So one benefit is you will have better reception

    When you say newer ones, is Si2166D the newer one or is there a newer one than this for the HD51?

    Also is it meant to show S2X in the tuner config because this tuner is showing as DVB-S2 for me currently.

    Thanks

    S2 = first one
    S2X = newer one

    As far as I can remember, there is no extra setting. You just configure it for the dish/satellite. When you scan, it will find the services that it is capable of.

    I connected this tuner and in tuner config on vix its showing as DVB-S2. Should it not say S2X?

    What does it mean to be multistream? Is the tuner multistream and how does it work?

    Just 28.2E, is there any other transponders worth scanning that are good for the S2X?

    Hopefully this is right.

    An S2X tuner will allow you to scan/view multistream channels. There are just a few transponders that have these services on 33E, 13E, and 5W.

    There is no benefit to 28.2 users other than the increased sensitivity of the tuner.
