Yeah, yeah, back in the good old days when Nissan was called Datsun to make it sound more western.

I ended up getting the ZGemma H7S with OpenViX and installed my own 2.5" drive. Visually it is very basic, has only a 4 character 7 segment LED display, but so far it has handled everything I have thrown at it! Max load was watching channel locally via HDMI, while recording another (using both sat tuners) and also streaming a recorded programme to my Linux laptop over the LAN, which it deals with no problems.

Wish I could find some documentation on how to configure the front panel, as I want it to display the channel number (currently displays the time) and also use the red LED to indicate that it is recording.

It was actually the Mutant HD51 I was initially looking at due to some online reviews on YouTube, but is currently sold out on WOS. There were a few on eBay but with prices of £700 to £1200 which I think are just place holders for eBay sellers who are out of stock.

Pretty sure RED / GREEN LED mentions in the H7 manual are typo errors. I pointed this out to Zgemma.

The H7 is basically a newer version of the HD51. The H7 is a top box imo. Low cost, broadcom CPU, internal HDD, fast, stable and well supported. Looks similar to HD51, just reduced in size. Remote is good too.

I have noticed that the remote control receiver (on the device) is a bit weak. I bought a power strip which detects when I hit the standby button on the remote and turns off the TV and peripherals. The detector for the IR is bluetak-ed on to the top of the Zgemma and it seems to have a MUCH better detection than the Zgemma receiver, anyone experienced this?

Been around for years, H7 is my main test box. Fast box and has 3 tuners compared with HD51 that has 2.

Can you receive 28.2 in Algiers?
