EDIT: I'm pretty sure the alpha blending issues have been addressed.
It all seems to work fine on ATV, I just don't like ATV.

I could always put a spare hdd in my main box which is AMD and install it on there when I get a minute.

It is just the way the linux distros are named, you can install on Intel CPUs. The build process is faster on Intel than AMD anyway.

You're right, I've just installed the AMD 64bit version and trying again

OK - the best log to look at is in the build-environment directory
Enter the directory, there is a build directory and in there is a log folder .... click on the lastest log.
You need to look at the log to see if its an issue with the source url or the oscam level (changed 4 days ago)
If the former then a rerun may fix it (thats why its important to save the library containing all the downloads) if the latter then go into the folder indicated in the log and revert it to the previous level (look at the OE-A web page for the info)

    Latest failure:

I did as @twol said and copied the oscam files and .done files to the sources folder.

Sorry forgot all about this post - really need the cooker log from builds directory
If its afetch error (which is why you should save downloads) then rerunning may just fix the error - often you find some servers are not available for a period

Maybe I need to put a bigger hdd in. I'm only running a 120gb ssd at the moment.
I tried to run an atv build but that also failed.
I've saved the ViX sources folder so it may be a case of adding stuff to it as I go.

Obviously both images use the same core but will differ on plugins and what is included in the image. I use 225Gb ssd‘s and as I build frequently for at least 6 receivers your ssd should not initially be a restriction

Keeping the downloads can significantly save on build time - so don‘t lose it
Once you start building it will remember where it reached and not start from the beginning

Also in case there is an issue in the OE-A its worth running a make update periodically
