    Hikvision CCTV - Any Good?

    Hi All,

Has anyone used the Hikvision brand of CCTV? Is this system decent enough for a home system. Only need 2 to 3 cameras.

    Hi

it will do the job, the quality is good for a analogue system. you would be better off with a IP system though the price higher. just be wary of grey imports.

Hiwatch is a brand of Hikvision. It’s the cheaper version of Hikvision.
Hikvision is very popular with professional cctv installers.
I’ve just changed to a Hikvision dvr and swapped a couple of my old 700tvl cameras to 1080p cameras.
    Very impressed with then both.

These are better quality than those Hiwatch cameras: https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk...mate-cctv-kits

Hiwatch quality is nothing like professional Hikvision range. Those Hiwatch cameras will most likely have plastic mounts, the DVR's are very cheaply manufactured.

I've got a HikVision H265 NVR - pretty happy with it - easy to setup and works great on the mobile and super cost effective at GBP100. Ended up using different IP POE Cameras (WGCC 4Mp H.265 Dome) - super happy with these. Excellent built and super picture quality - both day and night.
