    40979 ABM Failing to Tune

Hi there, recently moved to the Croydon area but having problem with ABM saying Failed when I run a scan (previous area I had no issues).

I've read about net IDs changing so gradually went up and found Edinburgh 1 40981 seemed to work.

But now I've done that it has mucked up from what I can see the local regional channels.

I've tried my best to resolve this myself (was running ABM 2.9 which I've updated to 3.1 and updated provider files) but all the searching I've done online in forums I haven't been able to resolve this.

Is there anything else I can do to fix the issue or help give I formation for ABM to be updated?

    Would really appreciate any help.

    Thanks in advance!

There is a sticky thread with nit analyser file. you can run that to find details of frequency to use.

It may just be changing modulation from 3 to 5

Thank you for the quick reply!

Unfortunately I won't be able to run that file as I haven't got access to my computer to run the commands.

As a test which file do I need to edit to change the modulation from 3 to 5 as a test?

    Thanks!

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

Did a bit more research and changed modulation from 3 to 5.

That worked a treat! Thank you!

Not sure if that needs to be be updated for 40979 in the provider files?

cable_uk_virgin.xml in the abm providers folder: /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers

Make sure you delete the providers.cache folder before running ABM again.

That did the trick for me. Found your post on another site you're on where you helped someone in the same area.

All good now! Guess if I update the providers I'll have to change that modulation file unless it's amended by you (I'm assuming everyone in my area will have the same problem?

    Regards.

If I helped the person, I would have committed the change to GitHub unless they did not respond.

Can you please post a screenshot showing the frequency, modulation and symbol rate of the VM preview channel?

    The official file has this
    netid="40979" bouquettype="hd" frequency="611000" symbol_rate="6952000" system="0" modulation="3">

    Is this what you need?

All I changed in the UK virgin XML file is the modulation from 3 to 5 and scanned - no tuner configuration failure now on 40979.
