    Google translate was interesting.
"You can provoke the mistake by mum wriggling back and forth several times."

I don't live with my mum so that's not the issue.

Nobody's mentioned which set of drivers are to blame, if anybody speaks German maybe they could tell them as I pasted in the details of the commit earlier in this thread. (I worked it out by chopping my way through the Vix versions.)

Good news, this has been fixed. I've tried the latest ATV and it's fine.
The fix was 29.3.19 so I suppose we now need to wait for a Vix build now.

    From thread
    https://www.gigablue-support.org/gig...ssig/&pageNo=2

"...but with the update from 29.3.19 it is now gone, as was the gstreamer what changed ..."

EDIT: spoke too soon, not fixed, at least on ATV. Just watched timeshift and not only was it juddery but the sound had gone too.

Try a clean install (not an update) see if that helps. I’d try without any restores too.

assuming it is a gstreamer issue as in the thread you linked too, have you tried openHDF ?? it uses ffmpeg.
With pure2 images you can choose how to handle playback. Im not sure on other images, i have been on pure2 for a long time now and have since moved on from gigablue as well, Good luck

By the way, I just tried the latest TeamBlue and that's still broken too.
It's not a major issue as I can just use a Vix from before they broke it in November, but I don't want to be stuck on that forever.
Also that thread is for the Quad4k so they may have only fixed that (if they have fixed anything).

I've only ever tried Vix, Atv and Teamblue. Much prefer Vix over the other two.

I installed serviceapp plugin which lets you choose between gstplayer and exteplayer3, problem still persisted. It actually got worse. Instead of smooth or slightly juddery, you get smooth or very juddery.

Anyway it obviously is the gb drivers as it went wrong as soon as their November ones were picked up by images.

Is it possible to copy them from the old image to the new? Where do they live in the image?
I have old and new on multiboot so can easily switch. I use sftp via WinSCP to edit/move files.

Just tested the latest Openvix 5 2 041

[GigaBlue|gb7252] update drivers - Improved zap speed if using DVB-CI - Fixed Misc in DVB-CI - Fixed Misc in OSD

Still not fixed - just thought I would try with it being a driver update ....back to OpenViX 5.2.006 where everything seems to work well.

Must still hope it will be fixed eventually!!

I don't think it will. I don't even think they know about the issue. They've ignored all our tickets anyway.

You can run the latest image with the old drivers, if you know how to move files around (I use WinSCP and do it from my PC).
When I was on 006 I copied the driver folder to my HDD. I think it was called 'platform-util' and had 4 files in it. Hence the relevant updates being called: "[GigaBlue - gb7252] update gigablue-platform-util". Then with an up-to-date image running (with bad drivers) I copied it back in. Been fine ever since and I do my updates via 'Software update' rather than reflashing the entire image (which would put the newer bad drivers back) so it's stayed good. If they DO issue new versions of those files it will pick them up of course so I may have to do another copy in if they're still not fixed when that happens.

Could you tell us where the pathway of the driver folder is and what the name of the 4 files are because I couldn't find it.
The only folder I could find similar was located here :-

    \\GBQUAD4K\Root\share\platform

This folder had 4 files named nexus.ko, dvb.ko, dvb_init.bin, nxserver. I tried to replace these files with the old ones but I could only replace 2 of them as the other 2 reported they are in use so was unable to replace them. Many Thanks

I have tried today flashing to 5.2.041 and replacing the 4.1.20-1.9 folder with the old one from image 5.2.006 but the issue is still their. There must be another folder that has the damaged GigaBlue gb7252 driver.

I take it you didn’t put the receiver to sleep, replaced them and reboot the receiver?

I copied over the old folder to the new image (5.2.041) and then rebooted the receiver.

Not the same as in Terminal Init 4 (freeze) then copy modules/files
and then init 6 which restarts E2 without allowing files to be saved.
