When switching off the box into normal standby sometimes it leaves the channel around the edges about 1cm on each side but black in the middle.
I have this box and no such issues here.

Does your main viewing have a 1cm also as in user interface needing a tweak?Maybe upload a photo of your issue.
Go in User interface > Postion setup > Reset this and turn off overscan on your TV.
