How long will an SSD last?

How long will an SSD last in a linux receiver such as a VU+ Duo 2? I'm recording 3 radio stations 24 hours a day every day of the year. I'm also recording a few hours of TV every day.

I just have a crappy Sandisk 100 GB SSD. It's not a long lasting drive like a Samsung EVO.

    Hi,
it depends a lot on the use case and the type. Normally you can fill a SDD a few times each day for several years.

The usually have a lifetime total write of 160~200TB (for a 480GB SSD - the rating is roughly proportional to the storage size).
However, you don't need the speed of an SSD (particularly not for a radio recording). So why not just use an HDD?
(PS: My Linux laptop is at 8TB writes after 5 years - but it's not heavily written to.)

Should be fine in storage for a very long time, even if it did break its a Pro series drive so it has a 10 year warranty.
