Question 12 Hour Timer has 6 seconds missing from end

I set a repeated timer to record BBC Radio 2 every day from 00:00 to 12:00 and also from 12:00 to 00:00. Every day for the past several days both recordings are 11 hours 59 minutes 54 seconds long. Instead of 12 hours long. Is that a bug the Vix team can fix please?

Do you not have any pre-/post-padding set?

Overlap the timers and then the problem is sorted, there are always a few seconds lost starting up and shutting down timers.

Yes I can do that by increasing the end of a timer to add an extra minute but then there's no seemless transition between 2 recordings as follows: 00:00 to 12:01 and also from 12:00 to 00:01.

Try the VPS plugin, at least you'll get the broadcaster's signaled start and end times if they're using them (working 99% of the time on both UK Freeview and Freesat)

What are you actually trying to do here?

If I've got the 2 recordings in a playlist on my PC. One recording ends then the next recording starts. The 2nd recording start will be repeating about 50 secs from the end of the 1st recording. Obviously you don't want that.

So you're listening 24 hours a day, and find a 50 second repeat a nuisance?

Do you really listen to all 24 hours each day? (If so, when do you sleep?).
Is there a broadcast time (or rather two) when you know it's unlikely that you will want to listen. If so, set up the recordings between those two times and the 50s overlap will be unlikely to be an issue in practice.

It means you'll get 100s behind each day. After just over two years you'll be a day behind.
