Sorry to keep bombarding with questions

I know you are not supposed to (or Strongly advised) to copy settings from a MIP receiver to an ARM receiver but can you do a settings restore from an ARM receiver to another ARM receiver. (eg Copy settings and restore from a gigablue ue 4k to a vu ultimo 4k)

The only negative of restoring settings between different receivers is the hostname changes. Can be changed back. Tuner configuration has to be double checked. If fixed IP, then has to be changed.

I am not aware of restriction between mips/arm/

If you are restoring to a multiboot receiver you must save /etc/fstab before the restore, and restore it after the settings restore ...... in OE-A images, the boot partition is placed in fstab and linked to /boot and all OE-A images use that to locate the STARTUP files used by these receivers.
Failure to do this will cause unpredictable results and crashes.

You can move HDD between receivers, it won't affect recordings. You will only lose them if you initialise (format) the drive.
