    Sat box or IPTV?

Family member has asked me to source a box for them, I have experience with cable/sat boxes with ViX but not so clued up with the IPTV side.

What would be the best option? I've no idea if you can even record one channel and watch another on IPTV like you can with a cable/satbox with the correct number of tuners.

ANy advice appreciated, currently on the WoS website checking out boxes.

    Thanks]

I recently bought a Mutant HD50 which has a twin Sat tuner and the ability to run IPTV - I have 3 different IPTV providers running on it.
Runs like a dream - got that from WOS

    2 Sat tuners preferably.

Had a look about on other threads here and see a lot of recommendations for the OCtagon SF8008, checked it out and it only has one sat and one c/t2 tuner.

I have a Mut@nt HD2400 myself and while it's still a cracking box support/peripherals are non-existent for it now despite it being heralded as the next big thing on it's release... so a little reluctant to go for the Mut@nt HD51 for fear of the same happening.

Just to add... the internet speed here is absolutely abysmal... presuming IPTV requires a fairly decent internet speed to stream? So would probably be better just sticking to a box with 2 x sat tuners?

SF8008 is an excellent receiver. The Stalker plugin for IPTV runs excellent too and lets you Pause IPTV too! Recording on IPTV is very hit & miss so my advice is treat IPTV as live tv viewing. Also get a micro sd card and use that for storage, I.e. Recordings etc.

When you say internet is abysmal, how abysmal?
