How difficult would it be to make a data transmission through satellite with an Arduino????

The title is sort of misleading. I'm not actually using an Arduino, but instead a Colour Maximite. They are super awesome, and in my opinion better, than the Arduino, but that's not the point. The Colour Maximite is compatible with most Arduino stuff. I want to have a system where I can make data transfers of up to 1mb of data, from one of my machines to another, using satellites. It needs to work from any point on the planet, and it has to be kind of small. So my questions would be, is this possible, would I have to pay tons and tons of money to use the satellites floating around and how hard would it be to make the code to do this

You could subscribe to one of the commercial internet providers mostly using ka-sat (9e) but why would you bother? there surely must be an easier way to achieve what you want.
