I don't have the receiver. There were a few posts about Sundtek tuner, I've moved to separate thread.

I've just tested on OpenATV 6.3 and the OptiCombo tuner works fine on the SF8008.
I tried copying the drivers to ViX 5.2.024 but still no luck. The tuner is recognised but ABM is just stuck on scanning - 0 services - 0 radio

I'm not sure if it's the same issue as I was having issues with sat tuner but is pid filter off? https://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...l=1#post458988

Sorry just realised yours is opticombo tuner so I doubt that's the issue.

Which image do you prefer using at the moment on your Octagon SF8008? OpenViX is working ok for me but I have found there are features missing that are available on OpenATV.

the LCD front panel settings, the ability to alter the audio settings and the level that the volume control key increases the audio. I do like how OpenViX are regularly releasing driver updates though.
Can anybody tell me what the main differences are between OpenATV and OpenViX?

Interested in your specifics - reason ATV wwas developed from ViX I think starting in 2014.
LCD front panel settings - these I thought should be the same (same software for this lcd) - so what is different?.
the ability to alter the audio settings - what exactly do you mean? is this the actual settings for say AC3, DTS, AAC or what? (ATV uses a common list for each audio type - ViX gets it from the receiver - so its accurate)
Audio volume - this should be same, but will vary on audio type selected.

Really interested in what you are seeing/hearing! QAlso is this direct to TV or via amp?

Just for information I have just done a fresh install of ViX 5.2.024 on a Zgemma H7 and added the Sundtek Control Center and Opticombo drivers from the ViX feeds and both usb tuners work as expected.
The Sundtek tuner is a sat tuner and the Opticombo is a cable/terrestrial tuner.

"ATV was developed from ViX"? I did not know that.
For the LCD display see this post: https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?60512-Channel-number-on-the-front-display-Openvix
It's not a big deal, the time is probably the best thing to have showing on the front display.

I also didn't know "(ATV uses a common list for each audio type - ViX gets it from the receiver - so its accurate)" .

What I mean is on OpenATV you can change how much the volume increases or decreases when you press the volume buttons.
So from 0% to 100% volume can be 5x up/down volume button clicks or 50x up/down volume button clicks.

    .
To be accurate for the 4K receivers (except Vu+) OpenViX extracts the options for each audio type - for the rest it also uses a standard list.
