    Xtrend 8000 keeps disconnecting randomly.

    Hi Guys

I have a strange issue with my brothers box. So i have an xtrend 10000 with a static IP address. I have a vu solo 2 in the extension and and an edision in the living room. My brother has an xtrend 8000. Each receiver has their own static IP address. All boxes are connected via ethernet but for some reason by brothers et8000 randomly disconnects. Until i restart the box it would re-connect back. I can tell this happens because i have all receivers profiles on my phone and i get a response from each one but wont get one for him. It would sometimes fix itself and come back online. Any idea why this could happen.

    Thanks guys

The connection is to my gigabit switch which is directly connected to my router. Its strange because all the other receivers stay online 24/7 but that's the only one that randomly disconnects and 30 minutes later or restarting it.. It comes back online..

    Very wierd

Have you tried another lan cable or port?
Is the box running very hot by any chance.

Yh I remember trying it before. Nah I have taken the back cover off slightly so it doesn't get hot. It only has one ethernet port

Not really of much use to you, but my et8000 doesn't suffer from this. As far as I know...

When (or rather after) it happens, log in and look at the /var/log/dmesg file to see whether it has a report of anything untoward. (You can just type dmesg to get the content, but if you want to post the info then it's all in that file).

Use image support section or ET8000 section for hardware/receiver specific issues. You may find the thread with the fix there.
