Possible to delete a channel from search?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, or if I'm going to explain it very well...

My box is terrestrial only, tuned to Freeview, using a Freeview bouquet.

I set a programme to record on ITVBe (which is a Freeview channel) but the timer tried to record it on ITVBe+ (which is available of FreeSat but not Freeview) - the recording was blank.

ITVBe+ does not appear in my EPG.

Any suggestions how I can prevent the box trying to record from ITVBe+ ?

    thanks

How are you setting the recording up?

When setting the timer, restrict to service.

    service=channel

CrossEPG downloader does not fetch any Terrestrial EPG. The Terrestrial EPG is absorbed by the EPG readers in Enigma2.

The service must exist on your system for it to have been used. Check the service list, not just your bouquets.

Apparently, ITVBe+1 only broadcasts for two hours a day to maintain its slot on the Freeview channel list. It uses LCN 58. Unfortunately the EPG being transmitted for the other 22 hours shows events when there are none.

    Thanks.
Found it in the service list. Is there any way to delete it or exclude it from searches?

    EDIT
    Found how to delete it!

    Thanks everyone for your help.

Deleting it will only be temporary until ABM next scans. So if you have ABM to scan Terrestrial/Freeview every morning, it will reappear.

My freeview ET10K has ITVBe+1 in the all channels bouquet, so it's not freesat specific, at least not from the Belmont transmitter.

OK. Is there a way to exclude it from searches?

If by "searches" you mean setting an autotimer from the epg, the default is to create timers "Only on the Service you've selected", so there won't be a problem.

Otherwise, what do you mean by "searches"?

I meant if I wanted to record a program that was on multiple channels. For example can I set a timer to record all episodes of "NCIS", across all channels (I'm actually trying to record "Sooty", but am not sure if I should admit that).

Find and highlight the first showing of sooty via the epg/ITVBe entry.

Press Blue to create an autotimer, and uncheck "Only on a weekday" and uncheck "Match timespan", followed by green, green.

All programmes on ITVBe called sooty will then be recorded, every day of the week, whatever time of the day it might be.

I don't need to record sooty as I saw the originals 60 years ago, I even had the puppet.

But I can't search across all channels for other instances, as it will pickup ITVBe+1 - which, although showing in the EPG, only runs for a couple of hours a day on Freeview.

I gave the sooty example because it is only broadcast on ITVBe.

    Doesn't deleting ITVBe+1 work?

There's no need to run ABM daily (if that is what was suggested you may be doing), I run it once or twice a year when needed.

Deleting a service is pointless if background scanning is not disabled. It will get re-added as soon as you are on the same frequency.
