I mean updating the software, the version on the box is having an issue with the narrator/audio description on all HD Channels?

Couch flash means "Flash using Image manager". It is the same as flashing by USB.

Couch flash does not mean software update.

    Do the follwing:

    Perform a settings backup
Download latest Image using Image Manager
Flash latest image using Image Manager
After it reboots, restore your settings and plugins

Click the green link in my signature for a guide with videos too

I will be doing a fresh image by downloading it to box -IMAGE MANAGER-downloads latest version to hdd then BACKUP MANAGER should list all versions stored,i will choose the latest one and install.
i will not use settings restore as things are screwed up and will setup from scratch.
What version is on box and worth checking on audio button on remote what is ticked.

You cannot perform a software update between different image versions. You have to flash the newer image. It is easier to "flash image with Image Manager" than "flash image with USB". Follow instructions in previous post.

Please stop scaremongering. Settings restore is fine.

If user has a problem after restoring settings, the next step is flash again and do not restore. This is why we have those specific questions in the Image support section.
