Powering it off a few times wouldn’t have helped matters. What you have to bear in mind is, these e2 (linux) boxes are like mini computers, so shutting down incorrectly can do more harm than good. You are best getting a usb flash drive out, formatting it to fat32 and putting the latest ViX image on it (5.1.032) and flashing it. If a backup is present it will recognise that during the FIW stage.

Andy is correct in so far as a reflash will solve the boot issue faster ..... providing you can manage to usb flash the box.
You might learn more by trying a telnet session to the box using something like putty ... if you know the IP address.
If you do and putty connects, type in init 4, then enigma2 and post the output here..... maybe we can fix the issue.
The picture stuttering implies a more fundamental issue that needs fixing.
I have done all sorts of bad things to my HD51 (including power drops - as Andy says not to be repeated) and it has never failed to boot up to the point where I can fix issues (caused by me).

If you had a stuttering picture you might be careful with those plugins - old backup - thought you only had the box on Thursday?
