    Video Resolution problem

Hi guys!! Just finished setting up my new Mutant HD51 and I have to say I am really pleased with it. However, I have a problem with the video setting relating Resolution. I am trying to set it up at 2160 but the picture disappears in my 4k Sony XE9005 and then I have to revert the setting to 1080 following the front display in the Mutant.

I have an HDMI cable from the Mutant to my NON 4k Onkyo AV receiver and I wonder if that's why this is happening. I have the satellite receiver and a PS4 connected to the Onkyo and then one HDMI to the ARC HDMI input in the TV.

Any ideas on what's happening and what setting I should use in the video resolution set up?

    Thank you

Afraid if its a non 4K Onkyo (no pass through at least - although that didn‘t work for me) then its 1080 for you.
I have a collection of Onkyo receivers (just reverted to an older one after my **** Denon fortunately took a lightning hit!), so really like them but the technology changes every year unfortunately.

..... but I have to say that in general my 1080p picture is as good on my (new because of the lightning) 4K monitor as 2160

I have a similar setup as my amp is only HDMI 1.4 and is a Pioneer that was supposed to do 4K (which it does at 4096x2160) but it doesn't do 3840x2160 which is UHD.

In my case I've connected the Mutant straight to the TV HDMI input and then use HDMI ARC (audio return channel) to send the audio back to the amp - works fine for me that way and means I can still watch UHD channels with HDR etc.

You just need to enable HDMI-CEC between the amp and the TV if not done already and ARC should hopefully be available - you may find the amp has to be connected to a specific HDMI port though.
