    Question usb query

When you setup your fat 32 usb to be used for recordings on e2 boxes to ext3-4 and then reformat on box again does it go back to fat32 again to be able to use on pc?

When you format/initialise on box, it will do so on ext3/4.

No. If it's been formatted to ext3/4 then it will be ext3/4. It doesn't magically change according to what it is plugged in to.
If you want to plug the thing into both you could use ntfs (you'll need to install the driver on Vix, IIRC).
And don't forget to unmount the disk before unplugging it.

I was of the assumption a usb previously used ext3-4 and formatted and not initialised would revert back to fat32?

I format my USB sticks exfat on the PC and have downloaded the exfat device driver to my miracle box. Fat32 was ok until I wanted to transfer a recording bigger than 4Gb, hence the reason for exfat.
