Recommend me a STB please. 2 Sats and Terrestrial aerial

    Location: Ireland

Hi folks, please recommend me a new STB.

Plan is to purchase an 85cm dish. I want to be able receive UK freesat channels on 28.2, also I have an Italian wife so I wanted a second LNB for Hotbird 13E sat.

With both these satellites, I wanted the option of being able to view channel while recording another like on my current Sky setup. How can I do this with least amount of cables

I was going to purchase italian tivu smarcam and smartcard.

Also as I am located in Ireland, I want box to be able take SaorView aerial feed for terrestrial channels, hopefully watch and record an other channel if possible

Not sure what hardware I need, do I need a Vu+ Ultimo 4K to achieve all this ?

    Thanks

The ET8500 is cheap at the moment. It can take 4 tuner cards.

With regards to your wiring, how many cables do you plan to run? How many receivers/devices are you using in total?

You have several options. All valid even though different. The unicable LNBs will allow you to run fewest cables

For an ET8500 with three sat tuners and one terrestrial tuner

    1.
    Use two X twin LNBs
    Two diseqc switches
Two cables to the receivers from "dishes/switches"
You can only use two tuners. If both are locked on 13e, you cannot use 28.2e

    2.
    Use two X quad LNBs
    Three diseqc switches
Three cables to the receivers from "dishes/switches"
You can only use three satellite tuners

    3.
    Use two X unicable LNBs
    Zero diseqc switches
Two cables to the receivers from "dishes/lnbs"
Use a splitter for the prefeered satellite

For an ET8500 with four sat tuners and one USB terrestrial tuner

    4.
    Buy with 4 sat tuners
Use a USB Terrestrial tuner for saorview
    Use two X unicable LNBs
    Zero diseqc switches
Two cables to the receivers from "dishes/lnbs"
Use two splitters so that 13e and 28.2 is fed to two tuners

The FBC tuners are more versatile. These are not available for the ET8500 They have two physical inputs, so no need for splitters. Your options would be the:

    Solo 4K
    Gigablue UHD UE 4K
    Gigablue UHD Quad 4K
    Vu Ultimo 4K
