Format the USB stick fat32 using hptool http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...ve-Format-Tool

Use a max 8GB stick and a rear usb port.

I have exactly the same issue mate tried six usbs and the bastard just ain't flashing!! I installed a programme I think it was Abu recommended that now does the job. There must be some issue with the solo4k being flashed as I never ever had any issues flashing previous vu receivers with most of the same usbs

Do not use a good quality USB stick, I use an unbranded 2GB stick for all my box's and it never fails.

Totally agree with this, try and find an old stick you have forgotten and stuck in a drawer somewhere ... and once you have flashed NEVER do this again ...... use ImageManager couch flash

Try unplugging or removing any HDD fitted and remove any other USB devices.

Backup your existing version of "ImageManager.pyo" in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/ViX first.

Unzip and transfer the attached file to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/ViX
    Restart
If you accept the risk, you can flash an image using Image Manager
