Help with Unicable and Motorised System.

I have tried to install an Inverto Unicable LNB but cannot get things to work properly.

I have temporarily reverted back to a Universal LNB with two outputs feeding (via a motor) to my Vu+ Ultimo4k which has two twin FBC tuners. The retailer (WOS) said to feed both cables to Tuner A but that did not make any sense to me as it left Tuner B unconnected and unused. (Tuner A was set-up as USALS and Tuner B ??? was set-up as 'second cable from A'.

What I would really like to do is to replace the Universal LNB for an Inverto Unicable and still be able to have a motorised system. ( I do understand the limitations of watching and recording on the same satellite).

    I have, therefore, two questions.

    1) If I keep the Universal setup as detailed above, are the two cables correctly installed and if both are connected to Tuner A's inputs should the motor feed be in the top or the bottom port?

    2) If I change the Universal LNB to an Inverto Unicable where exactly should the cables go? In other words which cable goes to which input? Physical Tuner A or Tuner B and also top or bottom input?

    Any help appreciated.

Help with Unicable and Motorised System.

Unicable LNBs are not designed for motorised setups.

A is top, B is bottom as far as I know.

I was hoping for a more comprehensive and detailed reply especially as I recall a post by yourself in which you said both you and Rob had a similar system.

Help with Unicable and Motorised System.

I have a standard LNB on the motorised dish.

I have a Unicable LNB on a static dish. Unicable LNBs are designed for this purpose.

    Thanks for reply.

This is exactly what I want to achieve. I already have the two dishes, one of which is motorised. I want to use the fixed dish on 28.2E and the motorised mainly between 5W and 19E.

This where I need help. Do I connect the Unicable (cable) to physical Tuner A and motorised cable to physical Tuner B. Some people are calling the top and bottom inputs A and B and this is why I am confused.

Would you please give me exactly your setup so that I can duplicate it.

    Regards.

Help with Unicable and Motorised System.

Unicable LNB: Which dish is it fitted to? Which satellite is it pointing to?

Motorised Dish: How many ports on LNB?

Do all ports have wires connected?

Tuners: How many inputs/connections (in total) do you have? (Just want to confirm its four and if they are FBC)

No point me giving you my setup as it is different. I can suggest what you can consider doing.

    OK

Unicable on fixed dish pointing at 28E

Motorised LNB has two outputs but prepared to only use one via the motor.

Ultimo4k has two physical FBC tuners.

One last question, which Inverto Unicable LNB do you have? How many SCR does it have?

LNB on its way from Germany..........IDLU-32UL40-UNB00-0PP

As to SCR, I believe 8 but this is where I am unsure for this model LNB. If you tell me this LNB is not the best choice I will change it immediately.

    Thanks.

    It has 32 SCR.

For motor, connect the wire to FBC port B. Tuner config, set as simple, USALS selecting positions. scroll down, press OK and enable sats you want. best not to enable 28.2.

For unicable, connnect to FBC port A.

    Tuner config A:
Advanced, Lof= unicable LNB, select, make, model.
SCR=1 (Dont mix up with position)

    Tuner config C:
    Same as above.
    SCR=2.
    Linked: yes.
    linked to A

    Tuner config D.
    As above
    SCR=3
    Linked: yes
    Linked to C

    Tuner config E
    As above
    SCR 4
    Linked: yes
    Linked to D

    Tuner config F
    As above
    SCR 5
    Linked: yes
    Linked to E

    Tuner config G
    As above
    SCR 6
    Linked: yes
    Linked to F

If you have spare physical Tuner. we can make use of the second cable of motor.

Thank you. As soon as LNB arrives and installed I will post setup.

One last question. The way I read Abu's post, I need physical Tuner A, top port A, for the Unicable. The first cable ( from motored dish ) to physical Tuner A, bottom port B.

With the second physical Tuner B it is possible to connect the second cable from the motor dish and setup as 'second cable'.

If I have got that all correctly, I am very grateful, thank you.
