    Newbie

    Hi
I am VERY green when it comes to the world of non-Sky and Freesat receivers. However, having just sacked Sky for everything I'm looking at purchasing a Mutant HD51. Firstly, would I be better getting two satellite tuners or one satellite and one combo? With the latter how does the EPG diffentiate between the tuners for say, planned recordings from say BBC1?
Sorry for probably being very naive!
    Thanks for any advice.

welcome aboard,if you got a twin sat it would give you the choice of view 1 channel and record another, epg would be the same .
combo could mean sat + cable=virgin media or terrestrial freeview via aerial.

Many thanks. Any receiver recommendations also welcome. Was thinking 4K to be future proof?

Hello, I have just entered the world of satellite and was looking a for a little advice.
I have had a play with vu+duo loading m3u files onto it but I am unsure the benefits of tuners apart from multiple recording.
I have just moved into a new house that has virgin but I am a little unsure how this would work if I purchased a box with a cable tuner?
    Sorry for the stupidity

Virgin Media only have 4 or 5 FTA (free to air) channels.

Thankyou andy_hazza, am I able to record multiple and watch tv with an iptv setup then or would I incorporate freeview in with it via a tuner?
If multiple recording isn't possible over IPTV I am questioning whether it is worth paying for an exspensive vu+ box.
Could you suggest any boxes more suitable?
    Thankyou

I guess many people pay for an E2 receiver, because it can do much more than a basic receiver, and can be tailored to your requirements.
If you really just want IPTV or Kodi (or both) then there are many cheaper Android boxes on the market, some offered by the sponsor that can meet these needs, and probably perform better in this specific environment

    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using Legacy ports on multiswitches
