    Picons not displaying sometimes

    Hi All,
I’ve setup my picons to be in a ‘picon’ folder on my USB flash drive. When I boot the box, they display fine. They will display fine for about a day or half a day of usage, then I will power up from standby or open the EPG and the picons will be gone. The USB flash drive is still accessible at this time and the picon folder is there. If I then restart the box or restart the GUI, they will re-appear.
I’m using Ocrams SNP picons (zip file, not IPK)
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    dcGT

    Hi Andy,
It’s an Edision OS Mega. I’ve noticed the flash drive disappears from the mount list randomly after a couple of hours of uptime. I’ve tried a few different flash drives and have seen the same behaviour. I’m using a powered USB hub in one of the USB ports at the back and thought this was the problem. However, I’ve tried using the flash drive on it’s own and have seen the same problem. Once the drive is not recognised, the picons disappear.
As a work-around, I’ve just placed around 100 picons on the flash directly. This works without issue.

    Thanks,

    dcGT

512MB Internal Flash is plenty enough to store some Picons on I would have thought.

Your flash drive may be on its way out.

What is the USB drive mounted as when in a "failed state"? Do you have other devices connected at the time?
