I could rig up another cable.
Do you think this could be the problem, even though power is getting to the motor?

Power getting to the motor doesn't proove the cable is in a fit condition to carry radio frequencies.

When I manually moved the dish by pushing the button on the motor, then selecting BBC1, the dish moved to 28.2E automatically.
The picture quality has always been excellent.

Maybe I should delete 'vhannibal.motor (1.0 + GIT 1310)' on the Plugins and set up by scanning.

    Great I've cracked it.
I moved the dish by pushing the button on the motor mount again, by about 30deg. Went back inside and selected BBC1. Again the dish moved to 28.2deg E. So something in the config is preventing the dish from moving.

I then went into Positioner Setup \ Set Limits and found that the E,W limits were enabled BUT both set at 28.2E. After cancelling Limits, a whole array of satellites then became available.
I will now set the limits up properly, to stop the dish from crashing into the wall.

Problem solving is a team effort, so I would like to thank Abu and Huevos for their much appreciated help.
