    I Miss Blind Scan.

I miss the blind scan which is not on the Octagon SF4008. They say its coming but is it? I will have to bite the bullet and mull over what to buy that has 4K with blind scan. Maybe I should have waited for the Gigablue 4K quad and spent the extra. Back to the computer with 3 windows open, Gigablue 4K, Dreambox 4K , VU+ 4K and compare them.

I do not see any 4K receiver that has a decent dvb-s/s2 blindscan using the internal tuners. Octagon seems to be good about supporting their products, and I would expect the SF4008 to have a satellite blindscan after Kodi is finished. How long this will take is anyone's guess.

Vu+ 4ķ models only support blindscan if you slot in a conventional, non-FBC tuner.

Octagon say they will get started on blindscan once kodi is done.

If you can't wait use a Sundtek (or TBS5925).

The TBS5925 is over £200! I will have to wait to see if Octagon does it. if not may as well spend the money on another box that does.

Well no FBC tuner currently does it, and afaik no 4K box except what I mentioned above.

Sundtek is 60GBP. All the guys who use TBS complain about terrible performance when used with enigma2 receivers and it is something not actively supported by manufacturer. Whereas Sundtek actively provide support for their product.

The Gigablue Quad 4K blindscans with FBC tuners? Thanks for the information! I think that is the first FBC receiver that has blindscan.

It is supposed to do both FBC and the PnP tuner ... now if they could deliver the drivers to get some more basic things working, it would be truly impressive rather than "nice"

Can you fit a DVB S2 tuner in along side the FBC tuners. In fact I am not bothered about FBC tuners. Is it possible to get a Gigablue 4K with just DVB S2 tuners?

    So what is "right"?
    A little clarification would help
This is the first scan of any type that I have run since the end of Sky on E2.
... as far as I could see (haven't looked at logs yet) it went through the stage of detecting "new" transponders and then scanned those found

Yes, PnP tuner is optional, so you pay for the 2 FBC tuners regardless.

the EDISION MIO 4K does Blind Scan brilliantly, just wish it had a 3rd tuner like the ZGEMMA H7S - but blind scan is not confirmed ANYWHERE....GRRRRRR
