    OSCam freezing issues

    Hi all

Recently upgraded to a Vu+ Uno 4K box after I killed my previous box (actually half a pint of water did), I was previously using mgcamd but found out only after purchasing the box that there was no armv7 version that works on OpenVix (although to be honest, I hadn't considered the CPU arch).

Set up OSCam using some config files I found on this forum ( http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...l=1#post294116 ), but i'm getting lots of freezing. In fact today it's been freezing every minute or two making it unusable. I've tried a bunch of config changes since then based on reading forum threads, and I've tried the usual re-install of oscam, and restarting it... but nothing helps. I have noticed that if it's a prolonged freeze (they usually last only 2 - 4 seconds, but can last 30+ seconds), then restarting oscam can kick it back into life immediately, but then it will continue freezing anyway.

I checked the logs of OSCam, and noticed that each time it freezes, I get a log entry about ecm not found, followed by a "restarting decodingrequests". Here's a snapshot of the logfile, showing a few of these happening, each one correlated to a freeze on the TV screen.

    Code:

    Note it's cable, not satellite.

I'm 4 days in, i've exhausted all my google-foo, so i'm really hoping someone can help me.

    Nope.

I reinstalled Vix from scratch last night and this time kept it bare bones. No additional plugins, No skins, not even changed from the default config. Only thing I added was OSCam from the plugin server and the relevant OSCam config files.

It seemed more stable last night, however I didn't watch it for long. This morning the log files still show the same entries as above that are indicative of freezing, so i'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes (I don't have much hope, but I really want to stay with Vix).

If i confirm the issue is still persisting (as i suspect it is), i'll install blackhole and try mgcam and see if it's any better, which will either confirm or rule out it being an oscam related issue.

Can't your try mgcamd on vix, too rule out if it's a oscam config error or not. Have a look on techkings in the downloads section and try the config files in there, uploaded recently by dangerous.

Someone has got mgcamd running on BH on another forum. Think only on the solo 4k though but I could be wrong.
