    You can - the question is 'should' you?

    I'm interested to hear the experienced opinions on this one as I use a 8gb USB stick just for time shift. Not sure there is any bEnefit but I had a theory it might react quicker than a Hard Drive that may be in standby when you press 'pause'.

    You can set the time shift directory to anywhere you like (USB,INTERNAL HDD, external HDD, NAS etc. ).

    Yes you can use it pause/rewind and record. I use one on a single tuner box that has no hard drive.
