Correct setting up of DiSEqC in OpenVix on VU+ boxes

Hi Can anybody point me to the correct way of setting above please? Example of my confusion: one site says set LNB to say 6 and position No 6 for say 19.2e then LNB 5 position 5 for 23.5e and LNB 2 position 2 for 28.2e etc. Then another says LNB to 1 for position 6, LNB 1 for position 5 and LNB 1 for position 2, in other words one is saying LNB and stored position are the same numbers but another says LNB 1 (using single LNB with motorised dish) for all and just change stored position numbers. So what is the correct way to set them up please? Also do I have to do a manual search for each satellite and store it to the DiSEqC position number please? Totally Very many thanks for all help/replies
