When I say everything, thats AppleTv, Sonos, Dune/Mede8er media player, Blurray, Spotify, Airplay (either direct or via AppleTV) and of course the sat receivers .. all controlled via my IPAD app.

HDMI 2.0a (HDCP 2.2) is good, but 2.0b is out also, but 2.1 coming later. If you waited you would never buy, but as long as it supports 2.0a you'll be good to go.

I am confused over this. I need to ask WOS why they have put this. Why they are saying is that unless your TV has a help 2.2 input it will not work. Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Anyway the original poster john doe is enquiring about the OCTAGON SF4008. I can't see anything about Hdcp 2.2 with this box.

I need to go away and read up again on what is Hdcp 2.2

when I bought my tv there was no HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0. I suppose manufacturers have had complaints from the consumer in regards to early 4k models not been able to show or play 4k media and over last couple of years have started to introduce HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 and soon HDMI 3.0 etc or whatever. in two more years they'll have something new as technology moves on.

agree, the sponsor should have put up a similar message for the octagon and other 4k receivers. the reseaon idid go for solo4 was the prices, but nothing on there about HDCP 2.2 & HDMI 2.0. however, I guess I should have done more research, but just didn't think at the time. thinking weather I should buy a new tv, or stick to the one I have as the picture is still top notch and not sure changing to a better tv will have any major change in 2160 plus there no 4k channels at moment. unless BBC or ITV get world cup in 4k, which they did a few back.

You and every man and his dog ....... it was bad enough when there were genuine technical changes, but nowadays its often driven by 2 Korean companies who find they have an edge somewhere and try to drive "this technical requirement" into new specs like UHD so they can screw their competitor

Your TV looks fine, the HDMI lead must be the problem. Try the lead that came with your receiver.

Found this from a review, The box itself – which houses four HDMI inputs (all HDCP 2.2-compliant), two USB slots and an optical digital audio output – connects to the UE48JS8500 via a proprietary cable.
Thanks Andy, I will try the hdmi cable that was in the box
