you may need to buy an adaptor to fit in to your dish though depending on what sky dish u have.

Not ideal though because the feed horn is a different shape on minidish LNBs.

Honestly, I have lost 0% signal (infact I might have even gained 1% on some transponders, based on the tuner info in the osd), when I swapped from a Zinwell Octo lnb (that came with the minidish), to an Inverto Unicable II lnb.

Not surprising really. The Unicable II LNB is a quality product. Also, what gets sent to the tuner is just the requested transponders so much less chance of interference.

But there is a physical mismatch between the shape of the dish and the shape of the feed.

Whilst what you are saying is correct, in the real world, it doesn't matter

Yeah, well the signal from that satellite is so strong in the UK you could just point the LNB at the sky and forget the dish.

    Didn't work

    Hi guys.

I'm also planning on getting a Unicable set up to use with my ultimo 4k fbc satellite tuner.
I would also like to know whether it would work with my current dish and what is this adapter thing people are talking about.
I'll post a photo of my dish and see what you guys think.

Also what's the difference between Unicable 1 lnb and Unicable 2 lnb?
    Thanks

A Mk 4 sky dish (anything newer than 4 years) will have a 38mm collar. Non-Sky LNBs including unicable have a 40mm collar. Search for 40mm MK4 LNB Adaptor Bracket. Item 352584179793 on ebay is one example.

Just bear in mind that the Sky dishes are eliptical, so their LNBs are squashed to make the most of them. There is a very marginal loss when you use a round LNB. Nothing to worry about, just to be aware of. So yes, you can use a Sky dish with a Unicable LNB.

    Code:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/SKY-DISH-MK4-HOLDER-ADAPTER/dp/B00FX7QAPE
This is the type of adapter you require on a Sky/Freesat Mk4 dish - If you have a different Sky disk you need to establish what Mark number and get the appropriate adapter

Although out of stock at Amazon
    Code:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/kenable-Adapter-MK1-MK3-Dishes-Clamp/dp/B007JIRDGK
    Mk1.Mk2, Mk3 40m adapter.

The Mk4 dish will have a spirit level just in front of the LNB whereas the earlier ones don't - photo ... (note1 satcure no longer trade)

Unicable 1 LNB are usually sold with 4 SCR channels although technically cable of more.
Unicable 2/Jess LNBs are usually sold in 24/32 SCR channels although technically cable of more.

IMO, waste of money getting Unicable 1 LNB.
