    Nano2super issues

I've just set up a nano 2 super with latest vix build and 250gb hdd. The box was overheating and the fan didn't seem to be kicking in but now that I've increased fan speed in system menu box is cool but should the fan not work without increasing this.

Also what should I set standby fan to as surely while it's recordings in standby fan should be running.

The box is now restarting by itself, turning my tv off as well in the process.

Any ideas what this could be?

Nano 2 super does not have auto fan, you have to set the fan speeds manually, both when on and if you want the fan running in standby (iirc).

Be careful if your increasing the fan speed with the nano 2 super especially if it's the default fan that came with the box. I always set my fans on all my boxes to around a third of speed bar in the image and it has destroyed two fans in the nano 2 super (there very cheaply made).

That's what I have set it to, third of the way and box is nice and cool but still reloading itself sporadically.

Turned off hdmi cec, def not that

Could it be a power issue?

Just be careful as both my fans worked great for a few weeks like that, then started to sound like a 747 at take off.

Box still acting crazy, funny i ran the box for a few weeks when i got it but no hard drive installed. Ran perfect. Ive tried another hdd and still the same. The bracket is actually just touching the heatsink, could this be a problem?

Box won't recognise hard drive but its working on other boxes. I've reformatted drive but still not showing in mount manager.

I think something must have shorted either by hdd bracket touching heat sink or the bracket screws, two of them were a little long and were coming out bottom of box

I believe there are two cables to connect - the sata cable and the power cable.

Have you double checked that both cables are fully seated and connected to the correct plugs on the main board. The power cable connection could be the problem.

Got hard drive going and box is working great apart from the fact that it is rebooting itself constantly. Its not crashing, its just restarting

Hoping some of you guys can chime in with possible reasons the box would restart itself, i positioned the power supply unit so i could see the blue light to see if it flickered when it rebooted but no, its steady blue, also felt box and it is hot but not overly hot....

Did you buy this receiver from the supplier or is it second hand?

I have two boxes with issues out of many bought from WOS. Ive had one successful technomate repair done through WOS before, it did resolve my issue with the twin OE but had to pay postage on sending it in for repair which i felt was unfair considering the fault was not mine and box was under warranty.

Xtrend et8000 has a similar problem which i know is HDD related because it runs fine with no HDD inserted. Just freezes daily, no crash log, just freezes having to power off/on. Sometimes freezes with audio still working but no function from remote having to power off/on. This box is under warranty but I can see this being a massive issue sending it back and difficult to diagnose, i feel i will just end up more out of pocket.

To be fair the nano 2 super was bought second hand and is not down to WOS to help me, the HDD is the issue here, it disappears from mount manager, goes into a crash loop, runs fine with no HDD installed...

If that's the box I sold you, it often had HDDs in it & never had an issue.
