Question TM 2T stuck at Updating... forever

    Hi,

I bought TM 2T about 2 years ago, recently I started noticing that the box would sometimes stuck at Booting... and then will start working itself after 10 to 15 mins. I decided to update the software just in case the image had become corrupted, but now it gets stuck forever at Updating... I took the box to Technomate where they also tried doing the update failing which they tried Auto recovery (don't know what exactly that is) which also did not work and in the end the guy said may be the processor was broken. I bought this for £280 and don't want to just bin it like that, I mean these things, PCs, DVD players, VCRs, TVs they go on for a lot more years than just 2. Is there anything I could do with this box or is it now just for binning.

    Thanks for you help.

Hi. If technomate couldn't fix it I doubt that it can be fixed.I don't have any ideas unfortunately.

There was bootloader update last year in February. If you had an image older than that and tried to flash a new one, you may wish to try the bootloader first.

Technomate are normally very good at repairing their equipment even if it is out of the warranty period. They would normally try to Jtag the receiver.

How much did they quote you for a repair?
