Picture flickers after I exit XBMC on Vu+ Solo2

I have my A/V settings at 1080p 50Hz as this is provides me with little/no flicker on normal TV channels such as BBC One HD. When I go to XBMC and then exit the application, the picture on BBC One HD then begins flickering very badly where the writing is seen moving all over the place. I go to my A/V settings and nothing has changed but if I change it to 60Hz and then back to 50Hz it returns to normal with no flickering. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Change your xbmc display setting to 50hz also, will look rubbish with HD films though.

When I open XBMC my TV says the resolution is 1280x720 @50Hz so I'm assuming it's already running at 50Hz. How can I check in XBMC anyway because all I can find is the resolution and not the refresh rate in the settings?
