LX1 Hardware fault? Help a newbe please.

just bought 2 LX1's from world of sat, one of them does not respond to the remote control but works via browser virtual remote or dream droid remote.
I have proven its not an issue with the remote control itself.
I have only had it less than a week and it still has the supplied VIX image, Latest build with all updates. Only plugins ive added vie the remote are Cross, CCcam and On demand. It has worked briefly after a power off but when i tried again later it was the same again and does not respond at all. I have mailed world of Sat but as they were cllosed for a few days havent had a response yet.
I am contenplating doing a factory reset or re flashing the image, but dont want to do anything that may affect the warranty. I Dont want to send it back unless it is definitely a hardware fault.
There were no batteries included with that receiver (the other had them included and sealed) which may be a coincidence or may indicate that it has been used before.
Any ideas or suggestions please.

Check your email.
