Angry Gigablue HD 800 SE 1080i crash

    Hi all

I am using Apollo image 166 and I experience a crash when I try to change the resolution of the box from 720p to 1080i.
The crash is so bad that the unit won't even boot up again; at boot up all I'll get is the Vix symbol in the top-left corner spinning then it stops spinning and freezes.
This same type of crash also happens if I try to set the resolution to 1080i during initial configuration of the box, why trying to adjust the screen position.
Everything seems to be fine if I stay on 720p.
The problem is though, once this crash happens I then have to reflash the box to get ti working again, which as you can imagine is a pain in the gonads.

Is this happening to anyone else, can anyone offer any advice on how to sort this out?

FYI - I have also tried the latest Hades 010 release and the same happens. I haven;t stuck to Hads because I don;t like the background (wallpaper) images and text, hence I'm using Apollo 166.

Have you tryed a non vix image, also have you flashed the latest bootloader, can your TV play 1080, what skin is in use when you change to 1080, these can all be factors, also set it up from scratch no back ups

As an aside, you can use any backdrop or bootlogo you like. There are several on the plugins download section. You can even make your own.

Wow thanks folks I wan;t expecting replies so quickly.

Ok so I'm NOT using any backups at all, fresh install.
    I haven't tried any non-Vix image

ALSO I have narrowed the issue down to the 60Hz refresh rate, 1080i on 50Hz is fine, so it's NOT the 1080i option that's cauing the issue, it's the 60Hz part.

Maybe 60Hz is not compatible with this box but it's been left in the menu?

Sorry for the ignorance casuk, but how can I check which bootloader version I'm on? Or how can I get the latest bootloader, I can't see in the same page as where the images are:

    http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?d...aBlue-HD800SE/

    Thanks.

Its in the downloads mate images, bootloaders top of list, I only use 50Hz, I don't know how to tell which boot loader you have I only know when I flashed it all was good I think you should just stay on 50Hz or dual

Mate either I'm blind or totally thick (or both) but I can't see it anywhere in the download page, all there is Archives, then the list of Hades images.

    Thanks!
Latest bootloader is from 2012 so yes I already have the latest.

So it looks like I'll stay on 1080i 50Hz and leave it at that.

Last question, I have switched skin but am still getting the Hades Powered by Openvix screen during boot, anyway to change this? I preferred the boot screen from Apollo / previous builds much much more.

How on earth did I miss that. Apologies for wasting forum space with my pathetic questions. And thanks for helping me.
But hey have you got time for one further pathetic question? I have now downloaded a boot logo called Helios which sounds quite funky. How do I actually set this to be the boot logo?
I know how to FTP into the box if that's involved then I can do that - pls let me know.
    Thank you.
