    Help with dish/LNBs/box set-up please?

Got my VU+ Duo2 box yesterday from WOS.

I'm looking to install my dish this week. This is the setup I have in mind, please advise.

    • One 80cm dish, 3 twin LNBs (13/19/28)
    • Two twin LNBs, 4 cables into DiSEqC switch 1, 1 output (maybe 13/19)
    • One twin LNB, 2 cables into DiSEqC switch 2, 1 output (Sky 28.2)
    • Both DiSEqC outputs into VU+ Duo2 tunners (got 2xTwin DVB-S2 tuners).

Is this doable, does it make sense?

Ideally I'd be able to record the odd football game, or a movie, whilst watching another, and generally pause TV.

I have another box (Openbox V8S) but I'd prefer to sell that and keep everything with my VU.

You have the descriptions wrong, but possible. No point connecting two cables from one LNB into the same diseqc switch. Use two swithces, with inputs from all three LNBs. Diagram showing two LNBs attached.

If you have more receivers, consider using quad port LNBs.

Thanks for your help. What descriptions did I get wrong? I got a bit confused now.

This is what I had in mind, see attached.

So you are saying I should get one cable from each LNB in Diseqc switch 1, then the other cable of each LNB into the 2nd Diseqc switch?

A diseqc switches allows you to switch between satellites on the same tuner. If you put two inputs from same lnb into same switch you are switching between the same thing.

So, 13,19, 28 to switch one
    Another 13,19,28 to switch two
