How to take screen shots. How to attach files.

I am posting this as a guide on how to take screenshots to save people having to resort to taking pictures with their cameras. This allows for better clarity. There are other way of taking screenshots, so please continue with the method you are familiar with.

The receiver must be on the same network as your PC/laptop. I.E it must be connected to the same router that your PC/alptop is connected to. You can use network cables, homeplugs or wifi USB devices. There is no need for a direct/physical connection between receiver and PC/laptop.

You need to know the IP address of your receiver. You can the check this by: Menu > Information > Network

    Full screenshot
Amend the following by changing the X so that it makes up the IP address of your receiver.
    Code:
    http://192.168.X.XX/grab?format=jpg
    eg
    Code:
    http://192.168.0.8/grab?format=jpg

    OSD screenshot
Amend the following by changing the X so that it makes up the IP address of your receiver.
    Code:
    http://192.168.X.XX/grab?format=jpg&mode=osd
    eg
    Code:
    http://192.168.0.8/grab?format=jpg&mode=osd

Paste this in your web browser's address bar. You can save these as a bookmark/favourite if you use the same IP address for your receiver.

A screenshot will be generated. Right click on picture to save it.

    2. Open your web browser on PC. In the address/search bar, input/type the receiver's IP address

    3. Click on Grab screenshot

You can attach screenshots and other files to your post. For some files, you may need to zip them first (e.g lamedb, lamedb5, settings). There is no need to zip log files or xml files.

Click on "go advanced" near bottom of the screen

    04 go advanced.jpg

    Then click on "Manage Attachments"

    05 manage attachments.jpg

A pop-up window will be shown. Click on "Add files" then "Select files"

    06 Add files.jpg

In the next window that is shown, go to where your screenshot or file you want to attach is located and then select it, then click "open".
(A list of allowed file types will be listed. If a file type is not allowed, zip/rar it.)

    07 pick file.jpg

You can add several files by clicking on "select files". Click on "upload files" when you are ready.

    08 upload files.jpg

The uploads will be listed in the bottom section of the screen. Click on "insert inline" if you want them to appear at a pariticular place. Then click "done". If you do not click on "insert inline", all attachments will be placed together at the bottom of the post.

    09 done.jpg

    EDIT (20161025):
If the "select files" does not work, click on basic/uploader.

Just to add that if you're using a smartphone or tablet, you can also save this method as a home screen shortcut, then it's just one click on the saved icon to take any proper screenshots.
