Exclamation VU+ XBMC Plugin - Few tips

Just thought I'd post a couple of tips before the Forum fills up with same questions over and over.

Do not use this thread for support. Only tips and pointers on how to use the plugin

    1) Build 142+ fresh flash and restore is required.
    2) To playback local media I found you need to add files via Root. Video > files > add videos > root filesystem > navigate to folder and click ok.
    3) Mount network drives via SMB or NFS through XBMC will not work. You will see thumbnails, media details etc, but will not playback. You must add the network mount in Enigma 2, then use method 2 above to add your media folders.

Imho this plugin is buggy as hell and as VU+ have stated its a beta. Although from my limited testing once I mounted network drives as above media playback, fan art etc.. is working great. Thanks Rossi for pointing me in the right direction.

    4) TIP: to setup the missing button for context menu, i used keymap edit addon
    http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Keymap_Editor

I used the Help button on Harmony to open context menu
And the numbers for Home / toggle video full screen / favorites
Very handy to make shortcuts this way to use RC instead of keyboard

I have tried the keymap edit add on with the VU+ Duo2 remote to get it to emulate the right mouse button but cannot seem to get it to work with it.
I have tried to map the < key saved on exit but still not working.

    Extra Help

I spent about a week having issues with the Kodi plugin on os omega.

I tried flashing with fresh images i tried willo's build i tried the telnet commands,

first issue was kodi would crash and restart the Receiver. Next issue was kodi would load but then when trying to install repositories i would get a version dependency not satisfied error. Next issue was that kodi would not load at all.

I must of spent about 50-60 hours trying to sort it out finally I reflashed the box with a fresh vix 5 image went through the wizard IE: picking hdmi and internet connection i set up the tuner but did not scan the channels.

I went straight to the plugins downloaded and installed the mx3 kodi plugin rebooted tested and installed my addons it was all working but would not save my settings IE:exodus sources and preferences would be gone.

To resolve that issue i rebooted loaded kodi got it set up how i like it and then changed the skin a few times from estuary to confluence to nox and back to confluence all seems to be working well now and the settings have saved
