vlc 1.1.4 opens vu stream using chrome and pli image
Type your box address in google chrome browser this will open pli web interface.
you can either view full screen in pli web-x-tv or click small tv icon and view on vlc 1.1.4

I think you misinterpreted the use of vlc described here. it is for streaming from a pc to the vu+ for playback of avi/xvid/mkv etc not for streaming from vu+ to pc.

Press menu button on remote then goto plugins.press green button and select extensions from the list. Scroll down till you see vlc and press ok. It will then be in your plugins list -- menu/plugins

I am talking about a REAL operating system. Your method is for the microsloth program loader AKA windoze - it doesn't apply to OSX.

Ok maybe I'm doing something wrong but vlc on vu+duo plays the movies absolutely horribly regardless of what resolution I'm using when I setup the server. It plays mkv movies with 2-3 frames per second and most of them don't even start and I see only black screen for 3-4 seconds. I'm running vix image 1.2 and vlc that I've found in the plugins menu.

No the REAL operating system LINUX and if you think you that smart you should be using LINUX, but windoze is good enough for most of our feeble minds!!

You're really exhibiting how feeble it is - OSX IS Unix; just a different variation (as is linux).

    1. install vlc 1.0.5 on pc
    2.install vlc plugin on vu+
3.setup ip of pc on the vu+ vlc plugin
4.open vlc on pc click view tab then add interface - then web interface
5.now open vlc on vu+ and you should be able to browse files on pc and stream no problem.

if of any use to you click thanks button. if not thanks for viewing

    Hi,
Is it possible to stream from a Vu+ Duo tuner to the PC?
If yes, how? Is it possible to stream from the second tuner while the first one is watched on the TV?
    Regards!
