    Bricked

Hello everyone, as the title says I think I bricked my mini by loading the wrong channel list, is there anyway to fix it, thank you for your time. It has the latest firmware on.

    Re: Bricked

I don't have one of these, so no idea. But can you not just reflash it?

I think you can only flash by USB from one that's already working

According to the manual it has an RS232 port, appears to be shared with the IR port. Wiring detail on page 16 of the manual and on the Ferguson website, search for Schematic of RS232 Null-Modem cable for Ariva 52E/102mini

    See guide here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...043#post179043

To use this software you need two leads.

    1) Null modem RS232 cable.
    2) RS232 Serial DB9 Male to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Male Adapter Cable. This cable is available here
    Code:
    http://www.saverstore.com/product/20045949/CablesToGo-RapidRun-RS232-Serial-DB9-Male-to-35mm-Stereo-Jack-Male-Adapter-Cable-05m
There is a small 3.5mm port on the side of the 102Mini that says RS232. It does not share the IR port.

Thanks for that could not see it in the photos. Just found it by the USB port. Surprised the OP did not mention it.

Just like to add that ive just got mine....got it working - flashed it ota which worked - then applied the wrong flash file - cocked it up - and im back up and running again - some stuff i found out (saying this im not all the way there yet) as i havent got the cam stuff working yet....

    1. Theres different firmware for the 102 and the 102e - my first mistake....make sure you get the right firmware.
    2. Just to check that i hadnt bricked it i flashed the stock firmware (check the bootloader box as well)
    3. after this it booted.
    4. if you get an stb error that just means you havent unplugged it for long enough (30 second or so for me) - and then it worked.

As i say im not all the way there yet but hopefully this should help some of you out there recover your boxes or at least verify theyre still alive..

Just thought id quickly add the patched firmware worked. (didnt check the bootloader option) plus i had a dog old philips pronto that came with an rs232 com to jack cable which worked a treat (just in case anyone wants the easy option of buying one off of ebay you could search for that).
