    New Firmware for Ariva 52E

Can anyone please tell me if a new firmware version is available for the Ariva 52E?

If there is a new version available for this receiver, does anyone know if it fixes WiFi Connection problems as well? Also, will my channels that are saved/antenna settings remain, if i upload a new s/w?

I'm hoping this will fix my WiFi problems (have the Ferguson WiFi adapter W02), which give me 'connection failed' when i try to view downloads from Web TV (and YouPorn doesn't work).

I'd really appreciate some help woth a guide to uploading the software, as my receiver is new, and i don't want to ruin it.

    hope someone can help
    thanks
    regards, smasher2

Buy the 102E or 202E, very good spec, loads better than rubbish openbox. The 202E has just been reviewed by What Satellite Magazine, got awarded the Gold award.

Apart from my Wifi connection with my Ariva 52E, i cannot complain at all about this box. So super user-friendly, and though my Wifi adapter (so far) works sporadically, the whole set up of the Ariva 52E is fantastic.

The suppliers only sent me a user guide in German (which i'm not too hot on!), but i found the menus (after setting to english!) so easy to navigate.... and they look the business too. Apart from the Wifi problems i'm having, i've NOTHING negative to say about the Ferguson Ariva 52E at all!

Anyone know why the Ariva 52E won't connect up with Network at all now? Everything WAS working, but now 'Connection Failed' on YouTube, You Porn...everything!

If it's just the firmware, then why WAS everything ok, but not now? Why would the firmware SUDDENLY stop working with WiFi when it did work before?

    hope someone can help!

Have you tried to connect with the cable direct from your router to your box? if this works okay then the signal strenght to connect to your Wifi adaptor
    maybe causing the problem,
I have the 102E mini and also purchased the Ferguson WiFi adapter W02 to use with it upstairs in the bedroom, router etc all positioned downstairs
had nothing but trouble with this set up kept dropping the connection, tried the box and wifi unit downstairs ran as sweet as a nut! no problems then
decided to try a Vonets wifi bridge borrowed from a mate tried this set up upstairs no problems what so ever, looked at a few options and then found a
one on our sponsers site called the Tenda W150M portable wireless AP/Router purchased and tested this tried upstairs worked also without any problems,
I am no expert but i think the Ferguson Wifi adaptor must require a 85% plus strenght signal to operate correctly.
    hope this helps!

ok, thanks jackdaw. I'll look in to another WiFi adapter. I have good signal strength, about 78 %, but as you say, maybe i need even higher with Ferguson's W02 adapter.

Unfortunately, i cannot connect connect my receiver DIRECTLY to router without WiFi adapter, as this receiver has no ethernet port, which drives me mad! Mr router is barely 7m away, but i'm wondering if i can get a USB (for Ariva 52E) to Network cable (my router) of this length... then it may all work?

    I appreciate any help!

The solution is to connect a WiFi adapter W03 adapter, not a WiFi adapter W02.
That solved the problem for me, no more connection drops after that.
It has nothing to do with the firmware upgrade. I used a WiFi adapter W02 before myself and I had the exact same issues as you before until it drove me crazy. Someone gave me a WiFi adapter W03 to try and it worked perfectly, never have problems anymore.
