    right,
i have an idea how to play about with these settings and satellite set up but last friday i had trouble with the silver connection into the box when it broke
i have replaced the connection properly now tonight but now im getting 70 -80 % Q
    but no L % signal..
i scanned all satellites and they all say the same..

ok...the coax cable has a outer braided copper wire, this need to be in contact with the F connector, and no contact with the inner solid wire, but this wire needs to extend slightly above the F connector, so as to gain entry to the reciever, is this the info you were looking for?

Not really..I have made off the f connector pretty good and I know I'm getting a good connection.
Now that I know I have a good connection, the menu on the eaglebox says. L -75% and Q - 0%
I have done a search on all the satellites (ongoing) and it can find any program's.
What does Q mean and I take it there should be some % here showing ( I have also done a full reset and loaded the software back in and still not working )
Think either the box is faulty or the dish is faulty - need to know about this Q % signal

Earlier when I had the F connector off and just inserted the centre core to the box it read only L14% Q 0% but as soon as I connected the outer braiding to the outside of the box's outer connection it jumped up to over 70% .. The Q reading never went above 0%

Q = Quality, if its at zero, then either the

coax cable is faulty, ( unlikely )
poor connection to the receiver and or the LNB ( sat dish ) hence my first reply
faulty LNB ( when was it last used ? )
    Dish Alignment is wrong
    Faulty receiver

do you have either a sat meter, or another receiver, to test the dish with?
or connect the unit to a freinds dish??

I can connect this box to a friends dish to check if it works but I have a funny feeling it might be my dish now after looking at it tonight coz I'm having trouble with the council fixing it on my roof a couple of months ago. It just seems like a strange coincidence the dish has moved the same time as the connection breaks argh.. Will check it out the weekend and keep you up to date.. Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated

Just to give you an update on the box .. I tried it on a friends dish and it works ok so it's looking like the dish has lost its signal .. Up on Friday to take it down .. I hope its just moved

ok, so the solution worked, you now know where the problem is, re alignment is easy, put the unit on a fta channel ( bbc or what ever ), get a mate to assist, not the missus, ( could lead to grief )
