Question which image? which softcam? cable or sat?

I'm in need of a complete newbie guide for getting both my Cable tuner and Satalite tuner working for my Dreambox 7025+

    • What's the best image to use for the DM7025+?
    • Which softcam should be used?
    • What are my options for using my twin tuners (both installed simultaneously)?

    My currently installed image:
    I have a DM7025+ and I'm running the LT5 sp9:

    Code:
    http://www.ltteam.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=132&Itemid=2
    My Cable Tuner:
I have both the cable tuner and satellite tuner installed. I'm unable to get either to work, not even to successfully get the free to air channels.

    My Satalite Tuner:
I am in the North London area (N22). I have a static Sky dish. The DreamBox image I'm using is LT5 sp9:

    Code:
    http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4693347492_ea2aff16f3_b.jpg
I dont have any (physical) cards but I do have the following EMUs installed if this helps:

    Code:
    http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/4692523681_14f3cbc62c_b.jpg
Please could I get help with setting up and scanning for the Free To Air channels?

For instance, why does my satalite tuner say "nothing connected"?

Please try not to post live links to sites other than this site, and code them in the way I have...

Also, welcome. A nice friendly intro would be nice

Also, I think I remember hearing that dream-elite have an image for the dm7025. Might be worth trying that image out?!

no external live links, write an intro. Got it. Sorry about that. I thought it'd be easier to read and more 'helpful'. But now I know better for next time. Thank you.

I've checked out the image section for the 7025, and there's about 4-5 options I could go for. I'm still waiting patiently for Sicilian to weigh in with his advice. He's never steered me wrong in over 2years!

thanks for the advice on the dream-elite. I may give that a try soon. I've been hearing quite a bit about it recently.

Easy question first for an Emulator/Cam use CCcam. This can be used for cardsharing, but unfortunately you will have to use google for more info that, sorry.

Now you'll have to bear with me on this, sold my DM7025 end of last year, so am answering this from memory.

You satellite tuner uses the same settings as a Duo

Cable is slightly more difficult. Can you grab a screenshot from the cable tuner settings so that it can refresh my memory You'll be able to do this through the web interface.

Hopefully these are what you're after to help me out with the settings.
But more importantly, shouldn't I be trying a different image by now?

I thought the first thing I should be doing is choosing my new image and moving away from LT, right?

I have a lot of experience with the db range (not the 7025) but the setup of the 7025, is very close to the VU+ DUO

I would be inclined to use the DreamElite image

    baz
    Units; VU+Ultimo/duo/DM800/7020HD/tm9100
    1.2 channel master/quad feedhorn/36volt /vbox
1 fixed dish, and 1 motorized 1mtr dish
and a pile of redundant cards/cams

ok that sounds like the masses have spoken. I'll switch to the DreamElite image by downloading the version Sicilian uploaded in the DM7025 OS/software/download section.
I'll be sure to try and remember to save my cam emulators via ftp before the new installation.

I presume DreamElite doesn't work like LT and allow you to download the cams via their integrated interface, right?

To download cams with the de version, press the green button, then yellow button. This will take you to their addons server... (Well, I imagine it does, as it has in all other blackhole images, so can't image the 7025 de to be any different)...

DM7025 image is more or less the same as the Duo's image.

I downloaded the Dream Elite image for my 7025. As I understand it there are two steps to flashing my box with this image.
    1. I'm meant to "flash" it first with the smaller image
    2. Once installed, then use that very same image, to install the full image.

My question is, for the image identified in step.1 (listed above) could I flash my Dreambox in the same way I always do? ie. via serial cable and DreamUp

this is just an example image.

You can flash the DM7025 using the web interface on your network.

Start with your box switched off using the power switch on the rear panel.

    1. Hold down the the DOWN arrow button on front panel, whilst holding this down, turn the power on.
    2. When the text stop comes on the front screen you can release the down button.
    3. Go to the IP shown in the LCD screen and upload your image through the web interface.
