Question How to save the configuration of the positioner?

I am a newbie. I apologize for my English.

I have a positioner and satellites are configured manually (not USALS). I want to upgrade. How do I save the settings of satellites?

    Thank you for your help.

    Which image are you using?

The VIX image as a settings back up feature accessed by blue button>VIX>Backup manager

if its just your positioner settings than can do the old style, write them down.

The positions themselves are stored in the motor: one has to remember the numbers associated with them.

    I use BH 1.7.1.

I know that positions are stored in the motor.
After reinstalling the image, I must manually set the number of stored position settings for each satellite. Can I backup and restore all satellites settings in one click?

Yes just use the backup manager on the default settings and it works fine.

What do you mean positioner? Is a 36 volt system or a diseqc motor? If it is 36 volt what controls it, a v-box or the stb?

    Interesting thread.
In the next days I'm finaly going to upgrade my father's duo. At present it's on VIX 2.4 which has an external DiseqC positioner.
    He uses Vhannibal Motor settings.

Since I'm going from 2.4 to OpenVix3.0 what can I do? I mean manually setting all the Tuner setting for the LNB and then the motor setup is really time consumpting. Can I manually backup anything from 2.4 and put back on 3.0 to preserve at least the motor settings?

Its best not to, you need to do clean install - why not write them down and or take a pic.

You can FTP out your autotimer and CAM cfg files and resend those back to the box.

TBH not sure if tuner set up has a CFG file and if its even possiable to retrieve and send to a box

you know. for every major upgrade on a motorized system that can point a number of satellites (tens...) It's really frustrating redoing the whole steps.

Certainly is. Save your old settings file (/etc/enigma2/settings) from your version 2.4. Then flash with version 3.0. Once you've got 3.0 installed and running you can write the tuner section of your original settings file into your new settings file.

    Huevos thx for that.

For reference, could you quote start and ending llines of the settings file that refers to tuner section, please?

No, because the size of the settings file changes every time a setting is changed.
