does box need to be left on when set timer to record ?

Does the box need to be left on or can it be put on off/standby mode if you have set the box timer to record a programme later in the day etc ?

it can safely be put into standby. not sure about deep standby however.

Standby ok, deep standby as long as u have v2.3 or later hardware wise...

I would say that if u wanna use deep standby, then try creating a recording when in deep standby, and see if it works ok.

Personally, I never bothered with deep standby...

dont even know what deep standby is, lol, so if its not switched on as default then its not on.

Long red press will give you deep standby option.

Short red press wil put the box into standby and is OK for recording
