Hi Everyone,

I've had this problem a little while, so isn't directly related to v2.2.100 but the latest update didn't resolve it either, so there is something wrong on my box.

When I record a programme to my internal HD it does't save the descriptions that usually appear in the EPG along with the programme info.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what it might be?

I don't really want to reformat the drive as I have a load of recordings.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy, yes EPG fully up to date and auto updates every morning.

I'm using the default VIX skin.

ok next question, what method are you using to fill EPG, just that screen looks like the EPG is corrupt look at the start-end time in yellow.

EPG pulls Sky UK OpenTV.

I thought the bit in yellow was the length of the recording?

EPG pulls Sky UK OpenTV.

I thought the bit in yellow was the length of the recording?

the bit to right is, but the bit to the left should be the channel it was recorded on.
try this:

1) delete the crossing data folder
2) in terminal do the following: init 4
3) delete the epg.dat file
4) in terminal init 3

now re-download crossing data.

Info on the left of that screenshot is the channel number and the channel name 5*.

I have carried out your instructions. I will test a recording and update here.

I've had a few recordings where I've not had the program info. But this is usually where I've crashed the box or restarted whilst recording... Had any problems when recording? Also, you haven't edited or delete any files from /media/hdd/movie have you by any chance?

Well it didn't fix my issue, still no descriptions.

No crashes or anything, box is pretty solid in that respect. So I don't think that's an issue.

I have taken recordings off of the HD to the computer in the past, does this case problems?

Sorry for the delay.

how can I find that out?

In Mount Manager it says Type: Linux R/W

just by chance in hdd is format EXT3 and not FAT32.

If you telnet in to the box, and issue the command mounts, it should give you something like:

root@et9000:~# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type jffs2 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/sdb1 on /media/usb type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/sda1 on /media/hdd type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
tmpfs on /var/volatile type tmpfs (rw)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)

As you can see in bold, my usb & hdd are both ext3, r/w. I would say yours is, as it's saying it's linux, but will tell you for sure if you do the mount command...

Thanks pal. Yes:

/dev/sda1 on /media/hdd type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
