View Full Version : Notice from Vu+ - Vu+ Uno firmware upgrade
Important notice for Vu+ UNO users!
As promised, Vu+ UNO is now on sale from June, 2011.
Vu+ is very thankful for the interest in our new product and we will keep trying to update our products.
There was several reports about scanning problem in specific TP and new firmware is released to fix the problem.
We strongly recommend to upgrade your box if you find a problem in scanning channel(s) with your box.
There are two ways to upgrade your box.
One is using your USB memory stick and the other is upgrading directly from the internet.
Option A) Using USB memory stick.
Download firmware binary from the link below.

Save the download data file into USB memory stick.
Attach USB memory stick to your box and restart. (or restart GUI)
Goto FPGA plugin menu.
Select the data file in USB memory stick and start 'Upgrade'.
Restart your box.
Option B) Upgrade directly from the internet
Goto FPG plugin menu.
Download the data file by pressing 'Blue' button.
Select the downloaded data file and start 'Upgrade'.
Restart your box.

Having got upgraded yesterday I thought it was time to do so, I upgraded via the FPGA Upgrade plugin and it was as simple as the instruction.
It does take about 5 minutes though for the upgrade to install.

Yep top class support from VU :) The engineer was in the UK approx 48 hours after the bug was found, thats dedication to their products.
thats awsome, you wish larger companies could do the same but thats fantastic support and dedication
Hello, i have the same problem with the transponders with sr 30000. I tryed to update, but i can't find FPGA Update in the menu.
I have the latest VIX for Uno. What am i doing wrong ? How can i make the update ? Sorry if this is a stupid question, i am new at this.
backup your existing setup using the image manager and backup manager in VIX. then load the official Vu firmware, do the update from there and then re-load vix. should take around 15 minutes from start to Finnish.

Thanks for that. I just received the Uno from W-o-S (excellent service, btw) - how can I find out whether it already has the patch installed?
if its from W-o-S it will be pre patched prior to shipping to you.
If you purchased from W-O-S its allready been done before shipping.

it corrects the bug that affected channels with a SR of 30000 such as many of those on 30 west.

The freq. 4000 on 91.5 does not exist on flysat listing.
are you sure that there is something on that freq?

as skynet has said this update is only for the Vu+Uno no other.
Here is version 4.4 Released on the 02/11/2011, you also need the latest drivers

What's fixed in this release?
Mainly some transponder issues but there is never much in the way of release info like there is with drivers.

no the FPGA update is separate from the image it self. just load the very newest version which is 4.4 and you will be fine, it only takes around 5 minutes to load the update to the box.

Yes you can do it from within ViX. you just need to copy the file to /tmp on the receiver, then go into plugins and launch the FPGA update plugin and navigate to where you stored the file. It should take around 5 minutes to complete

If the .po file is supplied, it can be incorporated in the next version of the image, so everybody has it at his disposal.

I have the same problem with German. Try to use Magix HD (Night) as skin because they have more room for text.
